i can't pinpoint when it happened, but within the past year, i have been fixated on dresses. blue ones, green ones, black ones. striped ones, jersey ones, ruffled ones. empire waists, 50s waists, cumberbund waists. cap sleeves, flutter sleeves, no sleeves. v-necks, sweethearts, scoop necks. full skirts, straight skirts, a-line skirts. silks, tulles, voiles. finding perfect dresses is joy.

for me, it started in late spring last year (or maybe it was the year before?). anyway, that's when THE QUEST happened. THE QUEST FOR THE PERFECT DRESS.

i love you in dresses.

speaking of brides, i can't ever picture myself in a wedding gown. is that weird?

nah, that's not weird. all wedding dresses (even though they're all different, too) have a certain look and feel-- it's this reverence, like a princess dress that holds a weighty meaning. plus it's a total gown, and people don't normally wear gowns. i guess you can't really picture it till you're in the bridal shop trying them on-- that's how it was with kristen and julia; i couldn't picture it until i actually saw it. it's a surreal, touching moment. (sorry to get all precious moments on you!)

aw, you so sweet!

wedding dresses are overrated. it's hard to pick one because everyone just makes too big a deal about them!

i love dresses and skirts. they feel better than pants to me.

i love you in skirts! i have a much harder time finding skirts than dresses :(

you looked gorgeous in your dress! i don't think i'll ever have a wedding big enough for a big beautiful dress. i think when we get married it will be small, probably calling for something maybe short? who knows! :)
